Meet the Team

Sanjay

Sanjay

Sanjay is a postdoctoral researcher at Chalmers University of Technology, specialising in accessibility, equity, and data-driven modelling. He holds an MArch from the University of Nottingham and a PhD in Urban Social Sustainability from Chalmers, where his research focused on developing activity-based models and synthetic populations to evaluate distributional impacts of urban accessibility. Before joining academia, he worked in the UK as a renewable energy consultant and tool developer, gaining experience in applying technical analysis to real-world decision-making. His research combines parametric design, transport modelling, and spatial analysis to generate evidence-based insights that support fair and sustainable urban policies. He has presented his work internationally and published in peer-reviewed journals on mobility, accessibility, and sustainability.

Sara

Sara

Sara specializes in Positive Energy Districts, energy communities, and digital twin applications. She holds an MSc in Architectural Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST) and an MSc in Sustainable Urban Planning and Design from the University of Nottingham. Her academic work includes the development of the DT4PED simulation model, the ECOM4Future Grasshopper toolkit, and the ECOM dashboard, which advance methods for analysing and supporting the design of energy communities. Alongside her technical expertise in simulation and modelling, she contributes to stakeholder participation processes, user interface design for research tools, and project management within EU-funded projects. She has published and presented her work at international conferences, highlighting her role in linking technical research with participatory approaches to sustainable urban transformation.

Jonathan

Jonathan

Jonathan is a postdoctoral researcher at Chalmers University of Technology, specializing in sustainable urban development, circular economy, and urban data analytics. He holds a PhD in Sustainable Urban Development from Chalmers, as well as MSc degrees in Smart Cities and Urban Analytics (UCL) and Urban Economics (UTDT). Jonathan has participated in and led international research projects (EU DUT, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank) focusing on urban metabolism, resource efficiency, housing, and transport. His research combines econometrics, spatial analysis, and data science methods to generate actionable insights for policy and planning. He has authored several peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Waste Management, Resources, Conservation and Recycling, and Journal of Design Research.
